GUEST SPEAKER

MIKE SCHNEIDER
Managing Director
Bunnings Australia & New Zealand

Mike joined Bunnings in 2005 in Sydney as State Operations Manager for NSW & ACT. After a number of years working across Store Operations and with the New Zealand team, Mike was appointed Managing Director in March 2016.

As the “team leader in chief” Mike is responsible for the entire operations of Bunnings Group Australia and New Zealand, and its entities including The Kitchen Collective and Adelaide Tools.

Before joining Bunnings, Mike held a range of senior operational, commercial and human resources roles across regional and national markets, both in retail and financial services businesses including Target, Westpac and The Warehouse Group.

Mike’s experience and interests lie in the development of sustainable, performance driven teams and creating deeply compelling and enduring customer experiences.

Mike is a strong advocate for emerging talent and believes in giving young leaders every opportunity to realise their full potential and develop their careers across a range of disciplines within the business.

Being a part of the Bunnings team is an amazing privilege and opportunity. We have a unique culture focused on team and inclusion as well as growth and performance. It’s a business I am passionate about and I always feel incredibly proud to be a part of the “red army”.

Outside of work Mike’s interests are cycling, reading & spending time with family, friends and my little four legged buddy Henry.

ABOUT THE TIPPING POINTS SERIES

These events delve into the five encounters that became tipping points in the careers of inspiring leaders. They go to the heart of Kwan’s philosophy that value and opportunity can come from unexpected places and unplanned times when people remain open to building authentic relationships.
